Gumprich was born in Winnipeg in 1974, and has been writing almost as long. He
made his full-size comic debut with EVENING SHIFT, released in May 2004.
His work has appeared in numerous print and web publications.
Following a stint as an associate editor with
Unbound Comics, Chris formed Arctic Star Studios in 2002. After
publishing a few books under that banner, the studio name was dropped in 2005.
In 2007 Chris decided to take a sabbatical from writing, and embark on a new career as an amateur voice actor for satellite audio drama productions.
In 2010 Chris rekindled his musical interest, and started playing bass guitar. He is a member of blues-rock-folk trio The Shoulds.
Chris is also a local historian with a deep interest in movie theatres, and contributed research to the book Silver Screens on the Prairie by Russ Gourluck.
By day Chris works as a programmer analyst for a local credit union. He is also a certified Project Manager.
He's married to an incredibly patient and understanding woman. They have two children and are just starting to learn that creative weirdness is genetic.
